Brand Identity
Bloom Creatives is a crafting business that sells DIY kits to people interested in crafting that don't know how to start or where to buy materials. The idea behind the brand identity was to create an inspiring and welcoming brand for this business. The colors are cheerful and lively, while the flowers, sunflower and dahlia, represent creativity and happiness. The flowers also play on the concept of blooming creativity for people who have the desire for crafting, but need that extra push.
Creative Brief
Bloom is a business that creates DIY kits for people who want to make projects but don’t know where to buy materials and how to do it. The business strives to make the DIY experience easier and inspire new creations to be made through their products.
User and Target Audience Groups: The target audience we focus on are the upper middle class.
Brand Attributes, Promises and Mission: This business will help people take the first step in finding their love for crafting and the latest DIY trends. This will be the one stop place to buy kits with all the materials consumers need to create the latest DIY trends.
Competitive Landscape: Other competitors such as Joann Fabric and Crafts and Michaels sell the separated crafting products and don’t sell DIY kits that are tailored to providing specific items in order for customers to create their project.
Business Objectives (Success Criteria): Bloom sells kits and then separate crafting materials to begin others' curiosity into DIY projects. We also have a monthly subscription where customers can get a one kit every month.
Creative Strategies: This business gives consumers the confidence to create DIY projects without questioning what materials to get and how to create their projects. The instructions, materials and tools come inside the kit.
Functionality Specifications: The design of the kit will include the store logo and instructions on the inside of the box. It also includes a business card, coupon and material list with a QR code that customers can scan if they want to buy more materials.
Comparisons: The brand takes DIY and crafting to another level by creating an experience with every kit. Competitors sell crafting materials but not kits where customers can receive all of their materials and instructions.
Kit Inclusions
When researching other companies that have kits a majority had instructions, logo from the company, material list (which could be included on instructions and possibly a coupon). However, to fit with the brand the focus for these was to design an inviting and creativity sparking layout. For the coupon, materials and instructions a QR code was included so people receiving the kit could learn more, buy individual materials or use the discount from the coupon.
